ShowTiming

Control Room — every button

This is the only page that should change the live clock.

Open the tab Control Room inside your event. If it is grey, add a segment on Rundown first. Keep this page for the operator only — never on a stage TV.

Top of the page (status)

You may see connection and budget information:

  • Connected / Connecting… / Resyncing… / Offline / Sync error — tells you if live updates are healthy.
  • Last sync … — when the last successful sync happened.
  • Discovery live budget — free plan live-time remaining (pause or upgrade if empty).

Shortcuts help

Button: Shortcuts (or press ?). Shows keyboard help. Close to hide.

  • Space — Start / Pause / Resume (depends on state).
  • R — Reset.
  • ← / → — previous / next segment (not while Running, unless confirmed).
  • − / = — minus/plus 1 second; [ / ] — minus/plus 1 minute.

Layout section

Buttons that change how your Control screen is arranged:

  • Personalize — enter edit mode (move panels, open gears, preferences).
  • Done — leave edit mode (saves if needed).
  • Unsaved — badge meaning layout changes are not stored yet.
  • In normal mode the layout is locked so you do not drag panels by accident mid-show.

Timer widget (required)

The big countdown. It is required and cannot be hidden.

  • Shows remaining time for the active segment.
  • Colors change for warning / danger / overtime (you can set colors in Personalize).
  • May show segment title and status Idle / Running / Paused if enabled.
  • If you see No segment selected — pick a segment in Active sequence first.

Active sequence widget (required)

Chooses which part of the rundown is live:

  • Active segment — dropdown to pick the current segment (blocked while Running).
  • ‹ and › — previous / next segment.
  • Notes — shows segment notes if enabled.
  • On time / ahead / behind — only if you set Planned rundown start time.
  • Hint Pause the countdown to change segment — appears while Running.

Controls widget (required) — Start / Pause / Resume / Reset

These four buttons are the heart of live operation:

  • Start — begins the countdown for the selected segment.
  • Pause — freezes remaining time for everyone (Stage included).
  • Resume — continues after a pause.
  • Reset — restores the planned duration of the current segment (may ask Confirm).

Adjustments, Upcoming, Cue message, Auto-advance

Extra panels you will use often:

  • Adjustments — buttons like −10 min, −1 min, −1 s, +1 s, +1 min, +10 min. They change remaining time live.
  • Upcoming — read-only list of what comes after the active segment.
  • Cue message — type text talent should see on Stage, then Save message. Clear removes it.
  • Character counter — stay under the limit shown.
  • Auto-advance segments — when time hits zero, start the next segment automatically.
  • If Auto-advance is on, keep this Control page open (the app warns you).
  • If Auto-advance is off, time can continue into overtime until you act.
  • You can hide some of these widgets in Personalize (not Timer / Controls / Active sequence).

Personalize mode — preferences & views

Click Personalize, then use:

  • Density / Contrast — make the UI tighter or easier to read.
  • Enable keyboard shortcuts — turn hotkeys on or off.
  • Confirm before reset / Confirm before changing segment — safety dialogs.
  • Sound on warning / danger / zero — optional beeps.
  • Saved views — Save as view, Apply, Set as default view, Delete (layouts you reuse).
  • Save for this event / Restore default view — store or reset this event’s layout.

Confirm dialogs you may see

If a box appears, read it, then choose:

  • Reset countdown? → Reset or Cancel.
  • Change segment? → Change segment or Cancel.
  • Restore default view? → Restore or Cancel.
  • Overwrite view? / Delete view? → confirm or Cancel.
  • Dismiss — closes an error banner after you read it.

Golden rule

If someone on the floor needs the time, give them a Stage link — not this Control Room page. Read Stage next. Create links on Stage & Broadcast if you have not yet.
